It takes 10 minutes to walk 800 metres on average – perhaps a little longer in the warmth of the Sun. That is the length of the private beach at Antalya Cullinan Belek and, as you wander across those beautiful sands, the gentle waves lapping at your toes, you may put the time to good use, planning your itinerary for the day. This eco friendly resort’s name is inspired by a fabulous diamond, and with more than 500 endemic plants and 100 bird species, it is fully justified. The kids (and perhaps big kids too) could spend a day at the on-site water park, with slides, a huge expanse of pools and an emphasis on fun. The fun continues with superb entertainment and live shows, including acrobatics, live music and daily performances. A more serene swim is on offer, either outside or in the heated indoor pool that accompanies a stunning 8,000 square metre spa facility and modern gym. Golfers will delight at the hotel’s 36 hole complex, designed with the sea on one side and river on the other. If eating well is a priority the astonishing array of 20 cafes and more than a dozen restaurants means the only concern will be quite where to choose. This is a hotel that has up to four Michelin-star chefs in residence each summer! Some kids may not appreciate Michelin-star dining, but they will love the kids club and there’s even a children’s only restaurant.
