Banff's landscape is varied and spectacular, comprising tall snowy peaks, crystallised glaciers, rapidly running rivers, steely blue lakes and dense forested mountains. No matter how far you stroll from your accommodation, you're likely to wander into one of the resort's local residents, including elk, caribou, deer, marmots or grizzly bears - although you may, perhaps, be a little less enchanted by the sight of the latter! There is also a thriving après-ski culture in Banff, and you will discover numerous bars and taverns offering an array of light bites, warm beverages and larger meals, no matter where you are in the town.
