Santorini Activities

Centre your time in Santorini around the caldera – walk along the edge from Fira to Oia (be sure to pack sturdy shoes), dive into its waters and explore nearly 40 sites or view the island from the sea on a catamaran sailing trip. And don’t miss out on a cruise to the nearby volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palia Kameni – the latter has hot springs! Prefer dry land? Go wine tasting at one of the many inland vineyards for generous sampling.

Santorini Food & Drink

You’ll taste plenty of unique flavours on Santorini, thanks to its volcanic soil. Must-try produce are the island’s white aubergines (cooked into a traditional Greek moussaka), pureed yellow split peas made in paste called fava and, of course, the sweet cherry tomatoes served a myriad of different ways. After a day of sun, sea and sand, sit down with a glass of crisp white or sweet dessert wine – made locally. Prefer a beer? Try a bottle from the island’s microbrewery.

Santorini Attractions

Santorini’s dramatic views are – unsurprisingly – its number one draw card. Head to the highest village on the island, Pýrgos and take in the incredible 270 degree views. When evening closes in, be sure to find the best spot to watch the sunset - we recommend Oia. Natural wonders aside, the Museum of Prehistoric Thira is worth checking out; it houses artefacts from the ruined Minoan Bronze Age city of Akrotiri including original frescoes.
