Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will have a 'meet and greet' at your arrival point before being taken directly to your hotel in Sigiriya / Habarana. After checking in you'll have the rest of your day to spend at your leisure.

Day 2: Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura - Sigiriya / Habarana

On your first full day in Sri Lanka you'll be taken on a tour of the ancient city of Anuradhapura. As the country's first capital this is a place of historical importance and is home to two World Heritage Sites. During your tour you will get to see Sri-Mahabodhi (said to be the oldest tree in the world!) as well as dagobas (dome-shaped structures) from the 2nd and 3rd centuries housing statues depicting Buddha and rock carvings.

Day 3: Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Polonnaruwa.

Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya / Habarana

Start your day by climbing to the top of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka's most iconic sites. Standing 600 feet above the ground, an old stairway leads you to the top where a royal citadel sits on the summit, passing beautiful frescoes along the way.

In the afternoon you'll come back down to ground level and carrying on your cultural tour with a visit to Polonnaruwa, a medieval city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights here include the Royal Palace and the Gal Vihare complex with its four images of the Buddha cut from a single slab of granite.

On the last day of your tour, we've squeezed in one more site before you head to the airport. Wake up ( picnic breakfast provided) and head to the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple which dates back to the 1st century. Within the impressive cave complex you'll find over 150 images of Buddha, along with cave inscriptions and many paintings.
